Abstract.  In that research, I handle Information Technology generally. In details, my main subject will be information technology in education. In this point, I will try to mention how can we use IT in education, how can we benefit from it and what advantages do we have instead of using traditional teaching and textbooks.

1           Information Technology
1.1           A brief Information About Information Technology
We use “Information Technology” or “IT” to refer to entire industry. In reality, Information Technology means the use of computers and software to operate our information. Some companies use different words to refer Information Technology which are Management Information Services (or MIS) and Information Services (or IS).

1.2           Popular Information Technology skills
·     Computer Networking
·     Information Security
·     IT Governance
·     ITIL
·     Business Intelligence
·     Linux
·     Unix
·     Project Management

2           Information Technology in Education
From the past when computers and multimedia devices started to be more useful and popular until now, IT is becoming more and more important for education. The development of the new technologies has had really powerful effects on how people live, work, and play worldwide. The emerging technologies had changed traditional way of teaching and learning, and the way education is managed. Information Technology, not only has an important role on the area of study, but also has an essential role in curriculum area.
3           The Evolution of Information Technology in Education
3.1           Information Technology in Education in The Past
One thousand years ago, education was dominated by only the spoken word. History and traditions were transferred from one generation to next one just in the form of stories. Just few areas were able to read or write. Books were man-made and only available for the richest. Thereby, the invention of the printing press had a very important role in education. Forwhy, books became available for schools, teachers and students.
The modern reform in information technology started approximately thirty years ago with the common use of the small computers. During this time, supporters of information technology had experienced many achievements. Across the globe, computers are omnipresent in nearly a fashion. The internet and World Wide Web have changed the way of communication and made simple and complex communications available to millions of people.
3.2           Information Technology in Education Now
In the last few years, in Turkey, lots of schools gave tablet PC to their students. These tablets have the student’s books and text books in there. Thus, Information technology is directly connected with schools, teachers and students now in Turkey.
In Pakistan, government gave much more importance to information technology in education in the 2000’s. Lots of information technology educational institutes opened and IT professionals are hired to teach their knowledge at universities. Across the country IT seminars, forums, exhibitions and competitions are being ordered to create IT deliberativeness among the people. Computer as a subject has been introduced in schools.
3.3           Information Technology in Education in Future
Information technology is getting more and more popular all over the world. IT may take the place of the textbooks in schools. The benefits of this are important. One of them is connectivity. With technology, teachers and student can stay in contact after their school ours. Even nowadays, lots of teacher and student have smart phones and tablet PCs. Yet, this situation can be seen just universities and colleges. In the future, we probably will see public schools have a technology in the same way.
The other advantage is saving the nature. Climate is unfortunately getting worse day by day. Our forests are burned or cut by people. If information technology becomes more popular in worldwide, we can save much our nature because we will start to use technological devices rather than textbooks which are made from tree and wood.
After general use of information technology, instructors and learners can stay in touch each other. For example, if a learner has a question to ask his/her instructor, s/he doesn’t have to wait for school time to ask the question. At home or dormitory, they can connect each other with video conference and learner can ask the question. In the same way, instructor can explain face to face the explanation of the question. For all of these, information technology has to become more popular in usage.
4           Information Technology For Lifelong Learning
Education itself is a lifelong process therefore anytime and anywhere access to it is an essential need. At this point, information technology assumes a big role. There is lots of advantage of IT for lifelong learning process.
“Technology can make lifelong learning a reality” is in a nutshell presented the North American point of view. With electronic tools, everybody can learn anytime and anyplace they choose.
UNESCO’s “Policy Paper for Change and Development in Higher Education” forces higher education institutions to use advantages which are offered by the advancements of communication technologies so that "each university should become an open university offering possibilities for distance learning and learning in various points in time."

20.05.2013

In the CTE 211 class, our teacher allocate some time for our term projects. Some of my friends had big problems about their projects. In that lesson, each of us asked our questions and our teacher answered all our questions during the lesson. Class time did not enough to finish all the questions but our teacher made self-sacrifice from her lunch time in order to answer all of our questions. This act really inspired me about teaching. When I become a teacher, I want to give all opportunities that I have to my students.

19.04.2013

In the TUR 104 class, our teacher wanted us to give a presentation. The subject of presentation was free to choose. I choosed "Rebuilt of İnönü Stadium". I choosed this topic because I had read lots of articles and newspaper posts about that so I thought that I knew the topic very well. When my turn came, I started my presentation. I prepared a powerpoint presentation. I did not include long sentences and boring information to that presentation. I put just inportant things. Before start, I introduce myself to my students. I tried to take their attention by giving outstanding information and examples about my topic. Furing my presentation, I tried to seem relaxed. At the end of the presentation, I gave some contact informationabout me like e-mail address and twitter username. Then, I asked to students whether they have any questions or not. They asked a few questions and I answered them. That was a good experience for me because the class was really crowded at that time.

Whole CTE 225 class

I want to mention something about my CTE 225 class. In that course, we prepare lots of unit plan and report. Generally, we wrote them in the class. Before start, our teacher made presentations about the topic. She answered all our questions immediately. During the preparing our reports, she gave a feedback to us one by one. She spent time for each of us. The number of students were very few so this situation helped our teacher. Sometimes we made big mistakes while preparing our reports but we fixed them immediately thanks to immediate feedback of our teacher.

In the CTE 218 class, we started to study about 3D design. We used free computer program Blender for that. At the beginning of the lesson, our teacher showed her presentation to us. In that presentation, she tried to teach us basic usage of blender. She used some screenshoots for that and that was really understandable. She explaned each button and their shortcuts to us. After the presentation, she gave us some small task to do. Therefore, we had a chance to implement our knowledge on the computer. This was a good technique because if there were some time to implement our knowledge, we may lose our knowledge.

15.05.2013

In the CTE 216 class, Beril and I gave a presentation together. Our topic was motivation and success relationship. We did a research for gathering information about the topic. When we started, I informed the plan of the lesson according to Gagne's nine event. At the beginning, I asked some questions to our students to take their attention. After that, I started to inform my lecture. I think it was a good lesson because after the class, I took lots of positive feedback from my students. After my lecture, Beril was started to her lecture. I think it was pretty good because she used white board like me. There was one thing that made me confused during my presentation. When I tried to inform my lecture, she always whispered left time to me. It was good actually because she want to stick our time plan.

24.04.2013

In the CTE 216 class, we did a group work with Beril, Özlem, Oğuzhan and I. In this study, our teacher gave a job to everyone. My job was searching the subject and taking notes because I had a tablet PC with internet connection. After collecting necessary information, I shared these information to my peers. Beril and Özlem wrote these information to the small whiteboard for us. After that, we present all information with our classmates and they present their research with us too. This is a perfect method for me because this method is more student centered instead of teacher centered study. I'm 100% sure that I will use that method when I become teacher.

29.03.2013

In the CTE 218 class, we start to learn about usage of photoshop. Our lesson started from basic things to more specific ones. Our teacher informed visual things first. She gave some examples about it and she used presentation for that. She showed some good and bad examples in order to make our minds clear about the topic. Actually this is a good method for doing that. I think I will use this method when I become teacher. I can easily learn anything when the subject visualized to me. Of course, if this method does not work with my students, I have more teaching methods as well :).

11.03.2013

In the CTE 225 class, we covered our main goal when we prepare our hole lesson plan. This is a part of hole plan of course. When we try to plan our main goal, our teacher said that there are lots of criteria. This information is really effective because at the beginning, we thought that our beliefs are important as a teacher. After that information, we learned that our student's interests are also important for that job so, after that class I always look for my target group students' thought about the subject and the goal of the class.

27.02.2013

In the last class, we used bubbl.us to collect our data together. We connect our "idea clouds" which are related each other. It was really useful because everyone said their thinking, their piece of information let say, and we set up all the subject in one window so when we want to go details about the subject, it is enough to look at that specific "window" for it. Finally, the subject of our class was "Teacher Planning."

22.02.2012

We covered how can be an effective teacher subject last class. Lots of ideas come up from us. Our teacher wrote them on the board. We tweeted all our ideas to twetter with #EFL252 hashtag. After doing this, our teacher show us all our tweets. After that, we decided how a person can not be a good teacher and we did the same twitter thing for it. It was really fun for us and our teacher said that that was his first time that he used twitter for education.
